Accessory Dwelling Unit Construction in Covington

This service fits a property owner who wants a separate living area planned around a real household or rental need. The buyer must decide how the unit will connect to the property, which rooms it needs, and how much finish work belongs in the scope.

Site layout is the key decision for this page. Entry placement affects privacy and daily movement. Utility routing affects the kitchen and bathroom positions, while the unit’s size and finish choices shape the construction plan.

Our design and build process keeps those decisions together. We coordinate spatial planning, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, flooring, fixtures, plumbing, electrical work, and finish upgrades where the project requires them.

  • Choose how residents will enter and move through the unit.
  • Mark the preferred kitchenette and bathroom locations.
  • Discuss utility routing and connection points.
  • Set storage, lighting, flooring, fixture, and finish preferences.
  • Share the property goals, budget, and known access limits.

Process

How We Build the Planned Living Space

1

Discuss the property and intended use

We review who will use the unit, what rooms it needs, and how the project should fit the property.

2

Set the room and entrance layout

The plan places the living area, kitchenette, bathroom, storage, and private entrance around the requested daily use.

3

Coordinate utilities and finishes

We connect plumbing, electrical work, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, fixtures, and finish choices to the agreed layout.

4

Build and manage the work

Project management keeps design decisions, construction tasks, communication, and site coordination moving under one scope.

5

Review the completed unit

We check the agreed work and organize final handover details with the property owner.

Choosing a Builder for the Unit

One plan for design and construction

The design plan and construction scope stay connected from the first discussion. We review rooms, finishes, access, and utility needs together, so each choice has a clear place in the work.

Project management through handover

Our team coordinates the moving parts from concept development through final handover. Licensed, bonded, and insured professionals manage communication and construction details for the agreed scope.

Know when another service fits

A full unit build is not the right job for a single fixture replacement or a small isolated repair. We can discuss the requested work and set a suitable remodeling scope.

A client scenario this service addresses

A property owner in Covington may need a separate living space but have several layout choices to settle first. We review the entrance, utility route, kitchenette, bathroom, storage, and finish needs as one plan. The consultation helps show which decisions belong in the construction scope before the owner requests a quote.

Best remodel experience we have ever had. The oversight, careful workmanship and ownership of the project was above expectations. Our design team was amazing. We also had the same person do all the work start to finish and was a total Pro. Could not recommend enough and will be doing any and all projects through them. This place is a gem.

Overall I enjoyed working with Linda and her team. Even though there were no major redesign of spaces and I knew exactly what tile/fixtures/cabinets etc I wanted I still was appreciative of her insight on certain details and choices. It was very easy to collaborate with her. She makes an effort to be in-tune with a client. She was very responsive and took care of everything that needed attention as soon as she was able too. She made sure that I was listened to and taken care of as a client with her subcontractors. I would work with her again.

After experiencing water damage in our home, we needed to replace all our flooring, some kitchen cabinets, and redo our primary bath. Linda and her team truly saved the day after a disappointing experience with another contractor. She worked closely with us to choose the perfect tiles for our bathroom and find flooring that suited our home. Her contractors did exceptional work, from leveling the floors to installation and cabinet remaking, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Linda answered all our questions along the way, and we cannot speak highly enough of the work she and her team performed!

Questions About Planning the New Unit

Which property details change the construction plan?

Property access, available space, utility connection points, and the requested room arrangement change the construction plan. Existing conditions can affect where plumbing, electrical work, the kitchenette, and bathroom fit. We review those conditions with your goals before setting the scope. The quote follows the defined work, materials, and finish choices.

How should the unit connect to the existing property?

The unit should connect to the property through a planned entrance and coordinated utility route. Daily movement, privacy, plumbing, electrical work, and service access all matter. We discuss the intended use and review the available layout before selecting a practical connection plan. The right choice depends on the property and the agreed scope.

When should I request a quote for the unit?

Request a quote after you can describe the unit’s intended use, rooms, entrance, utility needs, and finish level. A rough idea is enough for the first consultation, but more detail supports a clearer scope. We discuss design, construction, project management, and handover needs before preparing the quote.

Why do the kitchenette and bathroom need early planning?

Kitchenette and bathroom locations affect plumbing, electrical work, storage, movement, fixtures, and finish choices. Early planning keeps these rooms connected to the rest of the unit. We review cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, and fixtures with the layout. That approach helps the construction scope reflect how occupants will use the space.
